"The Gables is a quiet, charmingly updated 19-century home in the heart of Rhinebeck, NY. Managers John and Pamela Wurster are not only genuinely welcoming, but they treated us to some of the best coffee and croissants we’ve ever had—plus some fresh summer plums! The lovely white picket fence-enclosed yard is filled with flowers, birds, and happy squirrels and chipmunks—and great restaurants and fun shops are just a 5- to 10-min walk away."

"Plenty of parking. The man at the counter was always there and helpful 10pm or 6am. Does the man sleep?? Everything was very clean. Our room was very clean but as many have said, needs an update. Even the ac filters were clean. The tv wasn’t working and the front desk guy came I. And fixed it in 3 minutes. The room looks abused and well used. The tub had a crack. The ceiling tiles had water stains. The lamp shade by the bed had a large crack. And these are just a few things I noticed. But as...

"The staff was outstanding! We enjoyed the size of the room and the equipped kitchen. The little alcove outside the bathroom was a nice touch for two people getting ready. The outdoor seating areas were nice in the evening with fire pit going. Would definitely recommend this place."

"The property needs curtains or shades. As soon as the sun starts to come up, you have little option but to awaken to the sun beaming in your face. Also, both sink faucets delivered hot water; there was no cold water to brush teeth. Same in the shower - super hot. Lastly, we wanted to watch World Cup - and while the TV would turn on, either the remote to the Roku was dead or needed new batteries. All in all, too many issues for a nice boutique hotel."

"There aren’t a lot of hotel options so I found myself here, and the value of what I paid was pretty lacking. This hotel was fairly subpar for a BW Plus. What matter is the room was clean and comfortable, and the location is walkable to Uptown Kingston. I didn’t like that my one window was interior facing to this weird natatorium courtyard, where the pool and gym were. It smelled like chlorine. The gym had a set of dumbbells but every weight category was missing except for 35, 40, 45, 50 lbs. The...

"Clean, nice staff and easy to navigate. Comfortable beds with plenty of pillows. Could have done without 730 am bagpipes outside room, but otherwise nice."

"Large room with fancy bathroom. Nice common area. Good continental breakfast. Only issue is we didn’t have control of the AC and the vent over the bed intermittently made us cold at night."

"Before booking check to make sure the AC has been repaired. The AC was out in my room. I notified Anastasia by text and she told me to wait and that it would continue to cool down. It was a hot and stuffy at 79 degrees. The window was wired shut so we were unable to even get fresh air. I was disappointed with the doubletree but the staff did nothing. I love Doubletree usually. Poughkeepsie failed us."
