Located in a small countryside village, we found the location perfect for exploring the wider area, though it is remote from shops & restaurants so you must plan accordingly. The guesthouse is situated in a wonderfully restored substantial village property, with great comfort and decor, as well as a very refreshing pool in which to cool down. "This hotel was rated highly and priced as though it was a high end property - it is not. It is an ancient chateau remodeled into a 1970s motel with amateur carpentry. Upon arrival the manager attempted to upsell us on-site breakfast and booking a dinner reservation through her website instead of showing us to our room. Our room was surprising, as it was not attractive or comfortable. There was a giant space heater to be plugged in because the proprietor turns off the heat at night - in December!...

"The hotel is very convenient for accessing the fortress, shops & restaurants. It is right across the street from the wall & very close to the gate without the long uphill walk. Staff were friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable, room was very clean. The shower was a little small but fine & there was also a free standing tub. We would definitely stay there again."

"Absolutely outstanding experience! From the moment we arrived, the staff was welcoming, professional, and incredibly attentive. The hotel was spotless, beautifully designed, and had such a relaxing atmosphere. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and equipped with everything we needed for a perfect stay. The owner explained everything in our room. A service that we never experienced before. Parking was free which is a huge bonus."

"We got a friendly and efficient reception. Unfortunately, that proved to be the only good aspect of our stay. We received an email the day before arrival telling us that we should check in at the neighbouring Ibis hotel due to work on the Novotel reception. There was no mention of extensive work going on in the restaurant/bar area. I have no idea whether the restaurant was even open as signage directed you in to what looked like building work. Contrast this with another hotel on our trip where...
