"We had an excellent stay at Riad el Calife. There is not one thing I would change about our visit. The staff is amazing, the location convenient, the setting exquisite, the rooms luxurious, the food delicious. We felt very well taken care of and the entire staff was extremely attentive. "Definitely no where close to a 5 star Riad more like a 2 star. The rooms smelled putrid. Food was terrible and not prepared by someone who knows how to cook. Construction going on in main courtyard right below our room for hours including drilling, sawing, and banging - we could not nap. Night before was soccer game where locals came to watch Morocco play in African Cup - TV was in main courtyard of Riad and right below our room so again unable to rest/sleep due to screaming and tons of cigarette smoke. Reception never answered the phone - no one was in charge at the hotel. General Manger was not available despite repeated requests. Owner coincidentally was there one evening and told us that he couldn’t do anything because the general manager is in charge. This place is an absolute scam and should never be billed as a 5 star hotel when there is no service whatsoever. We couldn’t even get extra hangers. Towels and Linens are old and smelly and there are no feather pillows. We want our money back!” "
