"I thought I would try a more up-scale hotel than usual on this trip to Montreal, but on the whole I was disappointed. (1) check-in: I arrived at 5pm and I was told my room was ready, but I'd have to wait while it was "verified" -- that took 10-15 minutes, which was OK, but not my idea of luxury. (2) room: large, but a bit worn. The front legs were missing from the mini-fridge. One of the upholstered chairs smelled faintly of vomit when I sat in it. The bed was comfortable. (3) check-out: there was a line to check out at 6am. Unpleasant surprise: a $20-per-night "destination fee" was due on checkout, in addition to the advertised rate. I see it is disclosed in the fine print at the time of booking; however, since it is not optional (unlike parking, or a late checkout charge) I would expect it to be part of what expedia quotes as the total."

"We had a great stay at Homewood Suites Montreal Midtown and truly enjoyed our time there. The location is very convenient about 15 minutes from downtown Montreal with plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. The area felt safe and walkable, which was especially important for us as we were traveling with two young children. The staff we interacted with were warm, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. Breakfast was good, and we appreciated that there was some variety from day to day. That said, we would have loved to see a few more options like waffles, a wider selection of fruits, and some no-sugar yogurt choices. There was one staff member in the breakfast area who really stood out she went above and beyond, and we were very grateful for her kindness and support. Our room was clean and comfortable. As a family, we always make sure to book a full-size room, and we were happy with what we received. The only downside was that our room faced the highway, which made it quite noisy both during the day and at night. Next time, we would definitely request a room facing a quieter side. Overall, based on our experience, this will be our new favorite place to stay in Montreal. We usually stay with another hotel brand, but this stay exceeded our expectations. We would absolutely return and recommend it to others."

"Stayed two nights. Nice newly renovated comfortable room. Turned TV on but would not stay on for every 10 - 15 seconds. The room was not maintained. Everything was as we left it, no bed made no supplies repleniished, no cleaning. We had to request the breakfast supplies be replenished on the first morning and gave up on the second going out for breakfast at a restaurant instead."
