"Staff was helpful and answered all the logistical questions we had, grocery store, restaurants, bus/ metro, etc. Only problem was communication on them calling for a taxi. Not notified that the price was preset, when the meter said 19 euros the driver charged 35 euros. Be careful, probably the taxi driver not hotel?"

"We loved this hotel was it’s central location in the Gothic Quarter. We felt like we could easily make it to any part of the city and we felt comfortable in that area no matter what part of the day it was. The coffee shop next door is also a treat for this location."

"The excessive perfume scent in the public rooms was bad but the perfume in the guest rooms was horrible. I had respiratory difficulties the entire stay due to the excess of perfume. The air conditioning in the room was excellent. Nice and cold. Not having the lobby bar open was a disappointment as the roof top was hot and uncomfortable. The bellman was excellent. Not having an indoor restaurant for dinner was a problem. Not everyone wishes to dine out doors and be bitten by mosquitoes. Room was very nice and well decorated. The hotel is beautiful with a lovely historical ambiance. You do not provide wash cloths and this is a problem. All in all I would rate it at 4.4 out a a scale of 5 with the perfume scent everywhere being the biggest negative. It was totally overwhelming and completely unnecessary."

"Well located in an old town area with very close proximity to one large and one small square filled with a large number of restaurants and bars. Most restaurants feature a wide selection of mains as well as an abundance of Tapas for sharing. There are a variety of shops up and down multiple side streets. The walk to the centre of the city is only about ten minutes. There are some time periods when taxis and Ubers can only get as far as the main square but that is not much more than 30 metres or 100 feet away. We were in room 102 and we did hear street noise…often until 3:00 am so do take that into consideration. There may be quieter locations in the hotel. We would stay here again."

"The room was cleaned. The staff was helpful, friendly and professional. The room was too close to the janitors room and it was very noisy in the morning. It looks like the room was recently repainted because it there was a strong paint odor in the room."
Hotel Barcelona Catedral

"The hotel was located just around the corner from the Catedral. It was modern and my room was light, very spacious. Had lots of lighting and plugs for my phones, tablet etc. It was very clean with mini bar, complimentary coffe, tea and water. It overlooked the mainly pedestrian road where it located. It was quiet. But close to activities, around the other corner was Avingua del portal de L'Angel with its shops and eating places which lead to Calle Leitana which takes you to the Cataluna Square. Las Ramblas is a short walk away. The metro is also nearby after you pass the Catedral. The hotel's location is in the Gothic Quarter but in a quiet part close to most attractions but far enough for peace and quiet if you like that, which I did. The staff at the hotel were great, very helpful and pleasant. This was one of the better characteristics of the hotel to me. Great people who were helpful and smiling. Laura and Walid provided excellent service, advice and were very welcoming. There was a pool on the roof which nice to have but I didn't use. The gym was small and was adequate for maintenance exercises. The bar was nice and complimentary wine and cheese tasting at 5pm was a great surprise and I appreciated this additional offering. The food in the restaurant was very tasty and breakfast was wonderful, more than enough to eat and very tasty. Enjoyed my stay and would stay there when next I am in Barcelona."
