Very old and musty hotel, good luck with the shower barely any shower pressure. Very duty and lingering smell in the bedroom. Additionally their 1980s lift makes an incredible about of noise. Bed is very uncomfortable too.

Great place to stay for a weekend of music on The Leas, nice balcony room with a sea view, no food but a well stocked bar, would recommend for a weekend stopover

Wals were very thin I could hear the other person in the other room(not my room!) snoring!!!!! Also no air conditioning & the building needs some renovations staff was very pleasant & nice!!!

The location was fantastic!! Beautiful views. Lots of great walking and the beautiful views in either direction make us want to come again. The staff was helpful and friendly. The hotel needs a lot of repairs, but they seem to be working on them and I know that's not cheap. (Our 2nd floor room had a view of the ugly rooftop out back, which distracted from the city view. But it might be the only room with that problem.)

We stayed in room 105, it was clean, didn't see any cleaners over weekend stayed Fri - Mon , bed very comfortable, very small toilet shower room, no extractor, the shower could of done with a slide pole to avoid wetting hair, balcony small but sufficient to sit outside sea view, very hot in room, fan supplied in wardrobe, but only one spare plug socket, which was annoying charging phones drying hair, hairdryers available at reception, the staff are happy to give extra tea, coffee milk just ask. Don’t know about parking as got the train there, about 10 minutes walk to station, Good location not far from town, harbour, Saturday & Sunday free music at bandstand couple of minutes walk ( summertime) The place is an old building not the Crown Jewels but you get what you pay for, friendly staff , and a good stay

Had a room with balcony overlooking the sea. The room was a good size and clean. The bed was comfortable and clean. The balcony had a couple of chairs to sit out on, which was nice. One thing was the balcony doors closed and locked but could still be pushed / pulled open so wasnt secure. On departure i asked about a path down to the sea, but the reception said she didnt know the area so couldn't help, which was a shame.

We had a warm welcome at the hotel, which unfortunately doesn’t have any parking spaces. Our rooms were in the third floor, which we could access through an older elevator. The hotel has seen its best years and probably needs a good investor to renovate the property and furniture. It is at a great location, close to the beautiful beach and restaurants nearby. We left before 7am, when breakfast was served.

The balcony overlooking the sea was beautiful, it was so nice ti sit there in the evening and first thing in the morning. All the staff we met were absolutely lovely. Check in was quick and easy. Hotel is a bit dated. The ladies toilets by the bar were blocked but the gentleman working reception guarded the toilet door for the men's whilst my friend used it so she felt safe. The bed was really comfortable. I should have asked for an extra pillow as one wasnt enough for me, but this didnt spoil the stay. The room was a great size. Free toiletries smelt really nice. Close to town and the station. I would stay here again

Room was horrible. Not as described in pictures or description. Shower did not work, all furniture was extremely worn out, beds were terrible. Staff was very unhelpful and rude, asked for a different room or a refund and said they don't do that. BEWARE OF THIS HOTEL. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!

Great stop over before Channel tunnel. Tea and coffee provided for early start. Friendly staff. Street parking after 8 is easy. I think metered until 6. Not sure about business hours. Pet friendly and very convenient for access to tunnel in early mo ning

Very shabby, but reasonably clean. Very hot in the room with just a weak fan. Only one double socket in entire room and it couldn't have been further away from the mirror if it tried, so impossible to style hair, if that's something you would need to do during your stay. Musty old food smell in corridor. Bit of a shame as in good location.
