"We enjoyed our stay here! The beach was within an easy, short walking distance and very beautiful! The rip current can be very strong, so we found a nice, mostly calm pocket of water between reefs, down the beach, to swim in for a couple of days-- really pleasant! Plus, they gave us beach towels at the desk. The staff were friendly, helpful and someone was always available. They provided dry towels everyday, since nothing dries for days. The rooms have a lot of screens so the sounds of the jungle come in, including howler monkeys! You can hear your neighbors as well as the rainforest, but the other guests were usually fairly quiet by 9 pm. "

"We stayed 3 nights. We liked that it was directly in front of beach. Nice free breakfast. Salt water pool was so nice. The staff were great. They always checked in to ensure guests were happy and had what they needed. My bad for not thinking that it is in the jungle. We saw a snake at the pool (little and not a threat), resident howler monkeys woke us at 5 am every morning (again part of nature) and sloths!! Dining options around hotel are limited however you can take a tuktuk into puerto Viejo for more dining options. "

"While the property is nice, our overall response is that the owners built as many domiciles on this jungle property as possible to profit maximize. Our unit was really too small as the bed took up 70% of the room. Furthermore, they owners demonstrated that they knew little about building in the jungle. Every day something would fall on our roof and make the loudest noise that would startle us. I have lived and travelled extensive in the tropics and the architecture was simply out of place. While it may have had a modern jungle chic appeal, it was not functional. Clearly they tried to save money on the core construction while maintaining a visual apeal. Basically, it felt like the owners were trying to extract as much as they could frrom the land and the guests. Just did not feel like the place was in integrity. This being said the Costa Rican staff was outstanding. The issue was the all to familiar colonization of this beautiful land. "

"The staff was excellent. Diego was very friendly and gave us great recommendations for excursions and restaurants. He went above and beyond and is an asset to Le Cameleon. David was also very friendly and full of good advice. Also Brady and Cindy. The gardens all around were beautiful. The restaurant was delicious. I highly recommend Le Cameleon if you’re heading to Puerto Viejo. "

"This hotel was fantastic. Super clean. The staff was very helpful, especially the staff at the front desk. Speaking very broken Spanish was not a problem as almost everyone can communicate in English. The breakfasts were very tasty and were included - we chose from a menu of about 6 main items. The property is roughly a 10 minute walk from the main street/beach. If we return to this part of Costa Rica, we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again."

"I just loved this place! The property grounds are gorgeous and the villas are perfect! Anytime I can see wildlife right at a property… I am in the right place. And the staff I met (Olivia & Eric) could not have been more helpful. It is just south of Puerto Viejo so peaceful and quiet. Several dining options in walking distance too if you do not hav a car. Breakfast there was a nice option too (and tasty). Be sure to try the daily juice offering too. "
