"Lovely hotel, conveniently located very close to the M5. The staff were all lovely and very welcoming. It was a very hot couple of days when we were there; the air conditioning in our room was excellent. The hotel is very well presented and well maintained. The restaurant was very good for breakfast and for dinner. The chef had clearly gone to a lot of trouble with some of the dishes we had. The spa is also excellent. We both had treatments and they were lovely. We almost certainly need to go back to the area again to take care of some family matters. We will almost certainly stay at the Aztec Spa again."

"This was a quick over night stay on route. I stayed here over 20 years ago and must say the bedrooms are now looking a bit dated. It was a heat wave and there is no air con and no fans were in the room or available from reception. Fast food from the bar was okay but hotel prices for food and drink. If not playing golf you can get better."

"Perfect as a couple of nights for a birthday treat. Feels like a mixture of Hogwarts and Downton and has a colourful history a secret army use and even a prison. Comfortable rooms, old-ish but nice pool and spa, but the highlight is the excellent food and service. Before cocktails in the library, and to work up an appetite, we used the free naps for the arboretum to find the American oaks from the civil war. There was a commercial conference in other rooms, and apparently it's popular with weddings - but the building and gardens are big enough."

"Situated on the ground floor during a heatwave wasn’t great. We were left wondering if all the rooms in the hotel were full and perhaps they could have located us in a room with a window that opened. The young man who served us for the evening meal was very attentive and very polite which was nice to see. Not so the staff at breakfast."

"It is on the outskirts of Gloucester, so was a great location to access the motorway. We enjoyed a good evening meal and took time to use the pool and spa. Paying for parking was the first thing you have to do, before anything and is a negative impact on check in. We had to call reception st midnight as there were people drinking ans shouting outside but they dealt with it straightaway."
