YHA Fremantle Prison

10/10 Excellent

"I have stayed at the prison a few times now, location is great for exploring Freo. Staff at the prison are very helpful and friendly. Staying in such a historical building is a privilege."

8/10 Good

"Lovely top floor large 2 bedroom unit, which could easily be turned into 3 bedroom by converting loungeroom into 3rd bedroom. We didn't use loungeroom as we couldn't work out how to use Netflix (no free to air tv either) whereas both TV's in bedrooms were easy to access Netlix & also free to air tv. Extra space in hallway would be better used as a small loungeroom. Beds all very comfy, as were pillows & lovely linens. Also blinds & curtains were all very good quality & worked well. Nice kitchen, but nowhere to hang teatowels & all the little wooden cutlery boxes were fiddly... cutlery drawer would be better or at least put labels on boxes. There was a microwave, but would have been better to have a convection oven/microwave, as there's no oven or cooking facilities other than microwave. Nice large shared bathroom, but again not enough towel rails & the shower cubicle needs a shower caddy as there was nowhere to put soap, shampoo etc. Massive balcony with a tiny table & 2 seats. A large outdoor table & more seats would be good. Lovely views from balcony but a pity only 2 of us could sit out there. Also the balcony's wooden floor needs attention (holes, splits etc.). Washing machine was a little hard to figure out how to use & the dryer took forever to dry not many clothes. Unit is in a fabulous position, just a few minutes walk from centre of town & all important sites."

Owston Hotel

8/10 Good

"A great small boutique collection of around 12 rooms. Very new so everything was in good condition, beds very comfortable with beautiful linen - all the basics catered for. Breakfast was in the bakery next door and no other amenities but if you are looking for a super comfy bed for the night in the heart of Freo this is the place to stay…,"

Hougoumont Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"A real gem. This unique hotel is in an incredibly convenient location. The rooms are very efficient and comfortable. The front-desk staff were friendly, helpful, and professional. They showed flexibility to my needs during my stay. If you’re driving, make sure to reserve a parking spot with the hotel — adds to the convenience. I highly recommend the hotel."

New Haus Managed by Hougoumont

10/10 Excellent

"Good location will feature for my review of this property. The places we planned to visit and have our meals were all within 10 mins walk. Our checking was across the street. Good pre instructions help us to navigate our check-in/out. Friendly staff were ever ready to assist."
