"I read a number of the negative reviews (after I had booked) and arrived at the hotel with anticipation of being disappointed. I am glad to say we had a lovely stay. Food was good, staff helpful, it is a lovely setting. I stayed in the river view suite and the room was great. Design good and lots of space. There is a lovely walk along the river. "The reception staff we met on day of arrival was very good. But not for rest of the days 1. House keeping staff did not understood english. Neither did they made any effort to understand what we were asking. I would expect them to atleast understand the basic words, if they are in hospitaliy business in Europe. 2. We had to call reception 2-3 times a day for water. Every day i had to walk down to reception to ask for bottle of water. It always took them more than an hour to get back with that...

"Overall good. Hotel is close to airport and is within walking distance. Metro is handy for getting around. We have 2 persons checking in but only 1 paper cup was provided for teeth brushing. Additional ones were given on request. Airport shuttle runs 24 hours but needs reservation and the van is small. Taking the shuttle from the airport on arrival would need prior arrangement. We were not able to contact the hotel from the airport and ended up jumping into a taxi and the driver wasn't...

"Very handy for the airport if you have an early flight or late arrival. Within easy walking distance. Not a characterful hotel, more a commuting stop over but fine for that purpose. Very close to the metro stop for Porto, in fact just over the road! Very tiny downside but annoying factor is you have to buy milk if you want to make a cup of tea! No complimentary milk at this hotel! "

"Buffet breakfast was amazing; such variety with hot and cold options. Hotel wasn’t within walk proximity to downtown, but Uber and Metro very efficient. We enjoyed a drink in the beautiful bar lobby at the end of our days, and the hotel was quiet and seemed to attract a mature clientele. We would definitely stay again."

"Vincci Ponte de Ferro is a very nice property. It is located on the banks of the Douro River, next to the main pedestrian/Metro bridge, the Jardim de Morro park and sky ride down to the river. The sky ride and funicular are nice options if you do not want to make the hikes up the hill to the hotel. Our room was nice and very clean. "Everything was great, from the check in to the check out. The one thing is that at night all the big bars are around the hotel and it get very loud and stays that way perty late into the early morning . They do give you ear plugs, just depends on if your a lite sleeper or not. Pool area is cool, just needs a hot tub for night. I will be coming back next year."

"This hotel was in a good location, just a little out of the hustle bustle but yet close enough to walk to town one way and a beach the other way It was always clean The front desk and the buffet were always ready to answer any questions that you had and very helpful The buffet was open at a good time 7 o’clock in the morning and food was terrific I would definitely stay there again if in Portugal"
