"This hotel is outdated in the best possible way— it feels like going to a rich relative's house in the 90s. Ornate and stylish, lots of character to the place. Tub also had jets, which was a great surprise. Room had a fireplace, but it was summer so they had the gas turned off. "The suite is old, and so may not appeal to everyone. It doesn't have AC so could be a hot box in summer, but there are plenty of fans and lots of open windows. There is lovely, tiny balcony off the kitchen, facing the back garden. I stayed for just one evening and was quite comfortable. The place suited me perfectly. "The hotel is located by the lake in the centre of the town. Is the service attitude good, but its facilities are slightly better than those of a motel. I wonder why it is classified under IHG on the website."

"Booked this motel twice now. Exceptionally clean room and property. The people who own and run the motel are very friendly and helpful. I like that you park your vehicle in front of your room and it’s very affordable to stay here. Very quiet as it’s just outside Port Hope, but all amenities are within a 5-10 minute drive."
