"This very dated hotel is central so that makes it quite good. The rooms are fine and there are things to do.
The food is average and flavourless. The staff seem always unhappy and overall I would say it is fine because of location but quite expensive given how dated and how I felt the service was.
They had said I would stay in my room for 2 nights given a tour group I was joining night 2 - yet they yelled at me at the front desk and make me move in a rushed format when I went to confirm.

"Hotellet är mysigt och frukosten är helt okej, det finns mycket att välja på, men det är lite trångt i matsalen, särskilt på den sida där man hämtar maten. Hotellet ligger nära centrum (mindre än 30 minuter till fots, och det är en härlig promenad). En del av personalen skulle dock kunna vara lite trevligare, främst i receptionen, men detta gäller inte alla."

"Excellent location in old Funchal. Very close to Harbor front and to museums, shops, services. Although there are no staff on site, check in was smooth, and we felt secure with the locked doors we had to go through to keep residents safe. For the most part, we had timely responses to queries to staff if we had questions hotel/room/airport transportation as needed. "
