Very nice hotel in Genoa's heart

Very nice hotel in Genoa's heart. Walkable distance to Brignole train station and Piazza Ferrari. Staff was welcoming and cleaning was daily done at high standards. We really liked the idea of the free drink in exchange of the stayover cleaning. It helps the environment and offers the guest the possibility to enjoy the bar free of charge after a long day touring the city. We ended up not using the gym, yet it looked very well equipped.

Not as you would expect from a NH Hotel

We have a long history from staying at NH, but we have never been dissapointed like this. First they gave us a very small room even though we had paid for a extra large superior room, and they initiallly claimed that it was correct. After some discussions we got a room of the righ dignity. Secondly we had something light to eat at the bar, and my wife got a wrap with something that best could be described as dried fish skin. And last, we are used to be spoiled with fantastic breakfast buffets at NH, but this classifies as average at best.

Central Hotel

We stayed for one night in June 2024. The hotel is located near the center of the city. That being said, it is on a one way street and the signage is not that great. In fact, we had to go down the street twice before finding the hotel as given this is an NH usually the signage is better. If you are using the hotel parking, it is actually the block before the hotel and then you have to walk down a very steep street...keep this in mind if you are carrying your luggage. There was not place to stop in front of the hotel to unload as there were cars parked everywhere. Getting to the elevators was a bit challenging as we had to walk up about 8 steps with our luggage before we came to the elevators. The front desk staff did not offer to use the small elevator to get our stuff up to the elevator level. The room itself was modern and clean but the bed took up about 90% of the space in the room. The bed was comfy but there was not a lot of space to move around. Good air conditioning. We found the water pressure in the shower OK but not great. Room came with a mini fridge and individually controlled AC unit.

Cet hôtel est un vrai 4 étoiles. La chambre supérieure est magnifique, grande, bien équipée. Nous avons apprécié l’espace penderie spacieux et le balcon (sans vue) permettant de suspendre du linge. Le quartier est animé sans être agressant, desservi par un bus à 2 min de l’hôtel et regorgeant d’offres de restaurations. Le personnel est disponible, affable et efficace. Seuls points négatifs, le manque d’une cafetière Nespresso (café instantané en sachet… berk !), d’un fer à repasser et le prix exagéré du petit déjeuner/buffet. (Aucune autre option). Je recommande vivement sans hésitation.
