"The room was clean. I emptied the dehumidifier in my room after 24 hrs, you could almost smell the mold. I wouldn't stay too long. We were there two nights. They need to fix that problem but the place was clean and staff were very nice."

"The swimming pool setup was awkward from our room had to go across a parking lot and when we first entered the room was a little musty but once we turned on the air the smell went away. All in all very nice. The hotel has invested a lot of money in the outside area. Would definitely recommend and gladly stay there again"

"The room was clean and bed super comfortable. When eating at restaurants or the pool side the staff was super slow. The food at the sports bar was below average. The steak restaurant was amazing. We would have liked to see more of a dress code for the upper end steakhouse though. Someone came in wearing a Homer Simpson tshirt and it just kills the ambiance. "I am from Madison and always look forward to staying with the Hillside and staff. Everyone is always very nice. Now the building is old so you have to accept some of the blemishes. My recommendation is stay in the winter when all the leaves have fallen and at night you can look down the street and watch the snow fall then go walking down main late at night it’s so peaceful and quite all you hear is the snow falling."

"The hotel is older but still in good condition. Our room was clean and had everything we needed for the stay. The bed was comfortable. Check in was quick and easy. Check out was also quick. They offered us a trip bag when we checked out with goodies we would need on the road...i.e. water, snacks. Breakfast was really good with plenty to choose from with workers checking on the food and keeping it well stocked. There was plenty of food to choose from. The pool looked clean and inviting...
