"Started off really well. One of the people from The Crown (which is part of the same group and does amazing food? spotted us walking through town and came and helped us get in the front door. Went downhill from there. The room smelt of cigarettes when we arrive and there were burns in the carpet. The bathroom was filthy. There was a layer of dirt all over the floor, to the point that I thought maybe it was the cover of the floor to start with, until I realised the white bits of floor behind the bath were still white, so it was definitely dirt. Loose bits all over it as well. Bath hadn’t been cleaned and there was dirt in the overflow waste hole on the sink. Bedding and towels were very clean luckily. Tried calling but no answer. Spoke to someone in the morning and they said the manager would contact me but they haven’t. Could’ve really lovely if they sort out the cleaning"

"The whole stay was beautiful! It was clean, spacious and the host even left Welsh cakes, eggs and milk in the fridge for me. It’s the first time I’ve solo travelled and this place was perfect for me, but I can also see it being perfect for a couple too! The host also left a “guide” on the table, with key information and recommendations for local places to eat and things to do, as well as cab companies which was really useful! I will absolutely be staying again! I had the best time and couldn’t fault anything! Thank you for a lovely stay."

"A great place to stay. Penralley House is a 250 year old building which has been sympathetically brought to modern standards. Our room was large, comfortable and clean. The breakfasts offered a good range of choices and the cooked breakfasts were excellent. "

"Lovely cottage. Everything was clean, fresh and warm. The welcoming basket was a nice suprise. Car parking was on site and very convenient location to the town. Will be returning to this little gem. Thank you. "
