We paid for the laundry service and got it back the next morning, all folded and neat for us. She also let us park out front and keep our parking place several hours after we had checked out so that we could tour the Gjirokaster castle. "It was a privilege to stay in the old town next to the castle in Gjirokaster. High above the modern city, next to castle and the old bazaar, it was not only convenient but an experience of a life from another time. "Very clean comfortable basic hotel near the foot of the main road up to the old town. Ideally located to see both parts of the city. Staff were very helpful with laundry and transport."

"Tough to get to but nice parking area. Google Maps takes you the wrong way so lookout. My room heater didn’t work and the lights in the bedrooms area didn’t work so had to depend on the glow from the bathroom light which did work. One of two small night stands didn’t work and the one that did had a short circuit so it went on and off. Breakfast was really weak but a very nice effort. This is a small place so it’s great if your expectations are in proper alignment. Location is fantastic....

"We loved staying at Amalia’s house. Everything was spotless and cozy, and very peaceful and quiet. The courtyard is beautiful and it’s very easy to access the main areas of Gjirokastra with a quick walk up the hill. We’d love to come stay here again!"

"Hotel stay was absolutely perfect. The staff was all super friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good each morning. The hotel was also located just steps away from the main shopping and restaurant area of the old town. I highly recommend staying here, and even more recommend choosing the room with the balcony, which was perfect for a cool evening. Maybe bring a sleep mask for that room as the patio door doesn't have blackout curtains and it gets very bright very early."
