"Friendly staff (and locals!) no lift (but I knew that) but pleasant and (considering how near the A9 is) very peaceful room. A good breakfast to send me on my way…"

"This hotel had the feel of an old 1980s hotel that had been poorly maintained over the years by the owners. The room was clean but on our second morning we weren't able to have a shower because the shower didn't work. The tap water was also like an oven while the beds were like rocks. Despite promising wi-fi this too was non-existent. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was ok but during our stay there was always a feeling of what was going to go wrong next."

"The breakfast was full Scottish with cereal loads of tea and coffee and different juices set you up for the day , room was clean with a hairdryer, tea & coffee and TV. Staff were friendly."

"Very quiet hotel in a fantastic location which allows you to explore Pitlochry and elsewhere. Plenty parking. Room was lovely, clean and lovely view out the front. Breakfast looked amazing and you can take your food outside in good weather. I didn't see the water tap outside my room until I was leaving which was a shame. Fan in room was great. I was told the owners were on holiday but the staff there were lovely and helpful when I wasn't feeling well. I will be back!"

"A beautiful, elegant country estate with a wonderful breakfast. Our room had a lovely view of the river. Waiters in the dining room were overly busy at dinner and appeared quite irritable and stressed."

"Booked an executive double room which was very spacious and had a large bath too. A bit dated overall but clean and we had a lovely overnight stay. Dinner and breakfast were both good quality with gluten free options. I enjoyed using the pool and sauna (pre book) however disappointed the hot tub snd steam room were not in operation. Also, the spa was closed both Sunday and Monday. Hotel is set in extensive grounds and is a 15 minute walk into Aberfoyle. Plenty EV charging points at the hotel....

"We were there 6 nights & it is by far the BEST guest house we’ve ever experienced. The house is the perfect mix of being historic but also updated, so it feels fresh. Loved the high pressure insta hot water & super comfy bed. Great location for walking to dinner each night. And it was the perfect home base for day trips to Dunnottar Castle, Balmoral, Blair Castle & Glamis Castle for the Highland Games. The gardens and view from the house are gorgeous. "The shower didn’t work and there was no hot water so showering was in a dribble of cold water. We did tell the girl on reception but never got fixed. The room was economy so maybe other rooms are better but if you want to close the door while on the toilet then defo pay more. Can’t watch tv in bed as it’s around the corner. The staff were lovely though just didn’t solve the problem and a shower is a must especially in 25 degree heat"

"Die Auffahrt und das gesamte Anwesen wirken auf den ersten Blick sehr imposant und hochwertig. Leider trügt der erste Eindruck etwas, denn bei genauerem Hinsehen entspricht das Erlebnis nicht ganz den Erwartungen, die das Erscheinungsbild weckt. Unser Zimmer war hingegen schön eingerichtet und sauber. Allerdings wurden gegen Mitternacht die Außenstrahler des Gebäudes eingeschaltet, die direkt in unser Zimmer leuchteten. Da die Vorhänge nicht bis zur Decke reichten, drang viel Licht ins Zimmer...
