"Wonderful historic building with modern updates where it matters. Friendly staff. Easy check in/check out. Street level access as well as a lower level walk out to the River Walk. We had a King Suite and it was spacious, comfy and quiet (except when the Spurs won and all the cars were honking - LOL). Good food and drinks. I highly recommend and would stay here again. "

"I wanted to love this hotel so much more than I did. I think everyone will agree that the elevator situation was beyond intolerable.....slowest elevators EVER and that was when they worked. They were inoperable for most of the week we stayed. We did not request clean towels every day as we do try to be conscious of the environment. But the 2 times we did, we never received more than one washcloth. One upon arrival and one the rest of the week....had to request more every time. The room was...

"Expensive for the rooms to look so outdated. The lobby and common areas are nice and modern. But the rooms have chipped paint, old mirrors old art, yellow lighting. Nothing like the pics. Thanks for still keeping the cookie tradition alive though."

"Breakfast and omelettes made by Noe were a highlight. The housekeeping was lacking our room wasn’t very clean. Furniture was dirty, windows dirty. The floors were not vacuumed. Strong musty smell in room. And the HVAC fan constantly runs and is external loud. Had to turn air off to sleep. Not good when it is warm weather. The beds are not comfortable. Front desk at check out was not friendly and rude when I asked for a receipt. For the price point and compared to other Embassy Suites this hotel...

"Even though the hotel was empty, they gave us room right next to the elevator. We could hear the elevator sound entire night, so we could hardly get any sleep. The mattress on the pull out was also in a terrible condition. I recommend any family of 4 staying make sure before hand to get a room far from the elevator and make sure the condition of mattress in the suite with pullout couch. Regards"
