Negatives: Pool access: key card did not work; when raised, staff insisted it did rather than resolving the issue. Room facilities: no tea/coffee, no water provided, and fridge not functioning. Ventilation: no effective ventilation, making the room uncomfortable in warm conditions. Temperature control: central heating still active with no ability to adjust, despite ~24°C outside. Bathroom: bath only, no shower — not practical, particularly for elderly guests. Room quality: no balcony, view onto car park, and overall lack of comfort or atmosphere (minimal décor, dated feel). Room allocation: the room felt like one that is used less frequently, raising questions about consistency in how rooms are assigned (e.g. weekday vs weekend stays). Overall: At ~€240 per night, the experience does not align with a 4-star standard. While higher-category rooms (e.g. suites) may meet expectations, the “standard” rooms fall below the minimum level of quality and comfort expected at this rating.
