I had a fantastic stay at Hostal Macaw. Fanny, the owner, is a kind lady that bends backwards to meet clients needs. Always smiling, making sure one feels welcome. Also her husband always has good advice at hand. They arranged my airport shuttle and take away lunch as well, which was really helpful. A brilliant stay. I chose this hotel because of its proximity to the airport & wanting to feel safe in Guayaquil given the UK FCO advice. It was perfect. I was upgraded on arrive to the sky club on the 7th floor. The room was brilliant, bed comfy, nice view, spacious, robe etc. the outdoor jacuzzi and pool were lovely for a dip before bed. Lovely lovely hotel. From the complimentary afternoon tea to the tranquil location and delicious food at the restaurant. Rooms were spacious and well equipped. Very friendly staff. Great breakfast too and facilities (gym, lounge) were great.

Very modern property. Felt extremely safe staying here for 1 night between flights. Had a wonderful refreshing cocktail and dinner at the restaurant. Breakfast was excellent with a huge variety of dishes. Having a complimentary shuttle to and from the airport was a huge plus point, as didn’t need to negotiate or worry about the journey. The staff are very attentive and helpful.

We received a warm welcome at La Danesa from everyone we met during our stay, the staff are so helpful and friendly. The rooms are superb, beautifully furnished with teak wood and wonderful textiles that compliment the very tasteful decor. We described it as Scandinavian style with Ecuadorean warmth. Really welcoming and helpful staff. Let us check in early (11am instead of 2pm) which was excellent after a long flight. Changed money for us, printed out boarding cards etc at no cost. Good breakfasts.
