"I stayed at 5 different accommodations during my visit to Japan, and Ryokan Plum was by far my favourite - it was a shame that I could only stay for one night! I stayed in the traditional tatami room, which exceeded all of my expectations. It was beautiful! The host (I forget her name) who greeted me upon my arrival was very kind and welcoming. I would highly recommend Ryokan Plum to anyone visiting the Hakone/Odawara area. "

"The whole place was spotless, staff was more than great, but what stood out is their attention to details: the way they recognize you and bring you your shoes as soon as you enter the lobby, they give you a flashlight if you go out at night, they take time to explain things. It is the PERFECT place to stay for a night or two, in a quiet environment."

"Family of four (with 8yo twins) stayed here in November 2025. It's a beautiful inn, comfortable and clean and quiet, with friendly staff and good food for breakfast and dinner. The bath is lovely -- staff help you book a time in the evening at check in, and it's available on a first come first served basis in the morning. "The staff was really nice and understanding, even though our japanese level wasn't wonderful. The baths are clean and you might book your slots for each of the private bath in the planning. You can go to the public bath related to your gender any time. The dinner was so exhilarating and a wonderful insight of the japanese culture and gastronomy as for the breakfast. Thank you very much !. However it might be uneasy for people in wheelchairs to access to this Ryokan."

"We had the same staff member for our entire stay and she was outstanding. She was so helpful. This was a feature with all staff we encountered on our stay. The stay and facilities were a true onsen and a must do experience in Japan. Hakone has many onsens. When we return we would not hesitate to stay here again."

"The villa is so clean and modern. Japanese style futon , complete house appliances, you can wash and cook. Very close to Hakone Yumoto station. I recommend it to any one travelling to Hakone . You will not be dissappointed"
