Our stay at Gora Hanaougi was exceptional from start to finish. The property itself is beautiful and peaceful, but what truly made the experience stand out was the staff. Every interaction felt warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. They went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable, always anticipating our needs with a level of service that felt both personal and effortless. The attention to detail throughout the stay from check-in to dining was impressive, and the hospitality felt very authentic.

This property is amazing, I already want to go back. The rooms are beautiful, comfortable and have everything you need. The amenities are awesome and smell wonderful. The private outside hot springs Onsen was heaven, we used it every morning and every night. It was chilly outside but our room was warm, beds were comfy. The staff is incredible, always there to help or guide you to whatever you need. The meals are absolutely delicious, and there is a lot of food. Traditional robes (provided) must be worn for meals. Please note, meals are traditional Japanese meals, seafood, rice etc. We saw many plates from other guests not even touched. This made us sad as the chef prepared gorgeous meals and some people didn’t even try them. We tried and ate everything, as it was delicious and we knew what to expect. The server for our party of 4 was so lovely. She made sure we had everything we needed. She served us for our entire stay and she made our meals so enjoyable. The staff always knew when we were coming or going, and our shoes were ready for us, or someone was there to hold the door. There is nice lounge for coffee in the morning, or just to sit. The hotel smells amazing too. I can’t express how lovely this place is. We did use the public baths, we had our own, but I am sure they are as lovely as this hotel. We would and probably will stay here again, it is that wonderful. If you go be prepared to be treated and fed like a king/queen!

This ryokan was the perfect place to kick off our two week honeymoon in Japan. We spent three nights at Gora Hanagoui and felt more relaxed than we’ve been in years. It’s a beautiful hotel well located right on the Hakone loop. The views from the room are breathtaking and being on Floor 1 made you feel like you were in the garden while still seeing the mountains. Both the private onsen and public were an oasis. The breakfasts and dinners were delicious. There is so much care and attention to detail by the staff, it was a true pleasure to stay here. I couldn’t recommend it enough.

This ryokan was incredible. The staff could not have been more kind. If you are booking with board (food) keep an open mind and enjoy the experience of traditional Japanese food and service. It is truly unforgettable. The in room onsen is wonderful, the amenities are excellent. You are provided clothing for dinner and sleeping. TV has Netflix. In room bathroom of course, refrigerator and Nespresso. They have their own private elevator to the ropeway station! It's 5 minutes from the hotel. They also have massage services for extra fee. Highly recommend

If you want a truly Japanese experience pick this hotel for two nights. The rooms are very nice. Have a private small onsen pool, the public onsen is great and the food is a high end Japanese dinner with many different flavors. We loved it.

This is the best hotel if you want to experience Japanese style food, living, and convenience to Hakone mountain. They provided everything you needed like Japanese clothes, inside decoration, service, etc. They also have a free shuttle to Gora station. The in room onsen is great and you will not find it in any hotel. There is a private elevator directly taking you to Sounzan cable car station, unbelievable! The included breakfast and dinner are unforgivable, very Japanese, delicious, it was also served in a private room.

If I can rate this place 6 out of 5 I would. Suouzan station directly has an elevator to the entrance. Extremely convenient to use. Staff is friendly, attentive and the atmosphere is the definition of zen. I have never felt more relaxed. Highly recommend a shiatsu massage with your stay. Food is delicious. Private onsen views are amazing as it over looks the mountain. The real highlight was our personal attendant, who made our stay memorable. She taught us some Japanese, remembered all our preferences and was a delight to be around. Truly world class service. We hope to be back and have her as our attendant again. どうもありがとうございます

Our stay was the best from the moment we arrived to check out. We were really taken care off and all staff made sure that we had the best stay. The property is conveniently located right by the Sounzan cable car station with it’s own private elevator. We were greeted as we got off the elevator and our luggages were whisked away by many staffs directly to our room. Wow. I am so glad we decided to stay here - the service from the moment you step foot on the property to the moment you leave was exceptional. You MUST do the private onsen on your terrace overlooking the Hakone mountain & the Keisei dinner - no exceptions. This was one of those experiences I will never forget.
