"Overall, it was an OK experience, but there were some issues. We arrived at about six thirty at night and after repeated calls to the front desk and having the send a technician up to our room to fix the heating issue. We were only getting air conditioning, and it was so frigid in the room. The hallway was much warmer. Finally at ten thirty that night, I asked for a different room. The woman clerk at the front desk was great and accommodated us and it was all fine The restaurant was...

"Nice hotel, but as of Oct 2026 there is construction across the street and a lot of banging noise from heavy trucks carrying cargo containers. The trucks start very early in the morning and woke us up many times.
Clutter in lobby with boxes, seems unprofessional."

"We enjoyed staying in this historical property close to the waterfront. Staff were extremely professional and polite. We had read reviews so we’re not surprised at the stairs to our 3rd floor room and separate townhouse style of the hotel. If you have any mobility issues I would recommend requesting a ground floor room. The patio area looked lovely tho we had a short stay so didn’t experience it. Appreciated free parking and local recommendations for eating."

"The Hollis is well located in the desirable downtown area. It is great for walking and close to shopping, restaurants and the Public Gardens. The rooms are suites so very spacious. However, the rates are pricey considering that the hotel is dated and in need of a major refresher. We also, had to park our car at the front on a very busy street, bring in our own luggage and wait for someone to eventually park our car for a fee of $35/day."

"Modern clean and well designed property with small kitchen. Gluten Free toast provided for my wife with fresh fruit, real scrambled eggs, yogurt and even roasted veggies.Staff even got gluten free cereal for my wife and gave us thank you gift of water and snack nuts with towel swans on the bed. Counter for sink kind of high for couple 5.5 Inches tall, but clean useable. Otherwise everything perfect. Garage is tight squeeze for most vehicles but expected for location in heart of growing city....

"The carpet in our living room was terribly stained and looked awful. The toilet seat did not fit and was constantly moving when you sat on it, not nice.
Outside our unit the carpet had debris on it from the time we arrived until after we left, not very nice. It just needed to be vacuumed it was not a stain.
While the were very helpful when we asked for things it would have been nice not to have for example every day we had to ask for coffee with three people they would sometimes give us 2. ...
