"My wife and I arrived at 5 pm and were checked in by a very friendly female desk clerk. When we got to our room, we discovered our toilet was stopped up. The front desk did not offer any help with the toilet other handing me a plunger. After opening up the toilet, I asked the front desk if I could have a 1 pm checkout in exchange for the plumbing work. The female clerk granted my request and said she'd leave a note for the am clerk. At 11 am next day, Sabrina, the general manager, called my wife in the room and told her she had to leave the hotel in 15 minutes or be charged another day. She told my wife a late check out was not granted. When I came back from gassing up the car, I was at the front desk and Sabrina, the manager, told me nobody authorized a late checkout and called me a liar stating that no female clerk was on duty the day before to give me a late checkout. Finally, she had to admit there was a female trainee on duty after I made her check on her computer, but that the trainee didn't have authority to grant the checkout. I explained that if the manager had the trainee on duty then that person had authority. The manager yelled that I was being mean to her and we needed to leave or get charged another day. My wife and I are both 78 years old and I'm a retired judge. If you read this, do yourself a favor and RUN DON'T WALK to a different hotel."
