"Lovely serene location near the canal and river (might get busy when the weather is good)..Lovely traditional spacious and comfortable rooms, in good clean condition. Communication before arrival excellent. We weren't able to use the spa bath as the plumbing currently needs re-doing to prevent leaks and there is no shelf to put the toiletries in the bathroom. "Almost everything about this stay was excellent. I would say that some of the interior is in need of maintenance (sagging floors) and one bathroom was tight spacing. The parking was not available but we were able to get parking nearby."

"Perhaps I made the wrong choice but I did not enjoy my night and left before my (paid for) second night. There was one light in the room, a table lamp that was damaged and could not be altered. There were supposed to be towels in the showers but they were face flannel sized. I am really not sure what the people running the facilities were trying to achieve, but it was uncomfortable and unpleasant. Never again."

"I was disappointed with our stay at Gloucester Robinswood Hotel. Check-in was very slow, and there were groups of teenagers hanging around the lobby which didn’t create the best first impression. Our room had no air conditioning, which was particularly uncomfortable during the 35°C heat. When I asked at reception for a fan, I was simply told they had all been distributed around the hotel, so there wasn’t one available. As our room was on the ground floor, we couldn’t safely leave the windows...

"Situated on the ground floor during a heatwave wasn’t great. We were left wondering if all the rooms in the hotel were full and perhaps they could have located us in a room with a window that opened. The young man who served us for the evening meal was very attentive and very polite which was nice to see. Not so the staff at breakfast."

"The room was adequate for our overnight stay. The shower was really good and all the basic usual were there. The welcome from Nadine was excellent as well as the rest of the staff. We really enjoyed the breakfast, thank you Chef. Overall the Linden Tree is a good, basic stopover, especially if staying overnight after watching the Cherry and Whites."
