"My stay at this property was ultimately disappointing, especially considering the high price. While the grounds were well kept and clearly cared for, many other aspects of the experience fell short. Service The staff were consistently rather rude, which set a negative tone from the start. Interactions felt dismissive instead of welcoming. Food & Dining The food was mediocre at best, and the menu was extremely limited. Breakfast was only served 2 out of the 5 days that we were on property. This was frustrating and inconvenient. Facilities The pool clearly needed cleaning and updating. It didn’t feel inviting or well maintained a separate children’s area would be a great upgrade. Rooms & Property Condition The property itself shows its age. While the rooms have been somewhat updated, the overall feel is still dated and doesn’t match the price point. Value For what we received, the stay felt very expensive. The quality simply didn’t align with the cost. Positive Note The one standout was the well‑kept grounds, which were pleasant and nicely maintained. "

"My wife and I had an amazing stay at the Cruz boutique hotel. It’s located in a great spot with many things nearby, the staff were very helpful and generous. They offered beach chairs and towels and ice, they housekeepers went by everyday in the morning. And the staff gave great recommendation for parking, restaurants and beaches. Definitely will be back and staying with them again. 10/10"

"Amazing, affordable place to stay on St. John. About a 7 min walk from the ferry terminal. They have a lovely creole style restaurant & bar serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. The rooms have AC!!! All the staff was extremely helpful and kind. They also have snorkel & beach gear you can borrow free of charge. Would recommend to anyone. Thank you!"

"My wife and I stayed at 'Villa Poinciana' at The Hills for five nights for our 10th anniversary. The Hills location is far enough off the beaten path that there was not much noise or vehicle traffic in our area, yet close enough to be very convenient to get into Cruz Bay via a quick taxi ride of about five minutes. Though not far from town, I would not advise walking into Cruz Bay from this location, as the roads are quite steep with little room on either side of the road for foot traffic in many areas without walking on the road itself. The villa was extremely clean and as advertised. The view over Cruz Bay was simply amazing from the living room and balcony. I highly recommend this villa and The Hills in general. Scott, the on-site concierge, was friendly, very knowledgeable of the area, and a nice source of answers for any questions we had. We enjoyed chatting with him periodically and he was always sure to ask if we needed anything and how our stay was going. We had a wonderful time!"

"Property is old and units need updated. Staff is very poor at communicating and do not want to help guest. They are hateful and rude. The concierge staff is not helpful at all and the Ocean 362 restaurant is poorly staffed. You will find the concierge is the bar tender. The owners need to get better staff! We will not stay here again! Not worth the money."

"Beautiful hotel and great location. It would be nice if there was a pool. Also, the towels in the room were hard and scratchy. May want to consider using fabric softeners."

"This is very nice, recently renovated 8 unit property. They are located on the top floor so 2 1/2 flights of stairs are required to get there. (Plus a walk up a hill from the ferry) It was a very nice surprise on how pretty the unit was and all the amenities available. The grocery store is right next door so grabbing some (very pricey) needed items was helpful. It’s a very short walk to everything in Cruz Bay. No need to grab a taxi unless you are headed to the beach or other parts of the island. "
