"Unfortunately our stay was marred by the fact that the bathroom bin had not been emptied and contained the previous residents used sanitary products!!! The shower took 25 minutes to drain and, whilst we understand the logistics of old manor houses, if the plumbing is not up to standard then this should be at least mentioned on booking. The bathroom windows were in desperate need of repair, and mould cleaner, which may be the reason why there were silverfish in the bathroom. The final straw for...

"The pros: really good value for money and a very affordable single room - by far the lowest price when I was booking, highly accessible location near the connection of the two main A roads in the area, characterful ancient building with a pub and beer garden on ground floor stocking local ales, quaint village setting and public square to the front, it's not actually on the main road itself so outside noise wasn't too bad with the window open. "A last minuet birthday break for my wife. Usually like contempory hotels but this quaint beautiful hotel was amazing. Beautiful decor comfy bed and amazing staff who could not do enough for you. We had milk in the room instead of using the pot cream... they even brought a little fridge for in and on the next night the fridge had a new bottle of milk.. absolutely amazing staff. 11 out of 10 and thank you for making our stay so pleasurable. "Staff efficient but robotic and lacked empathy. Bedroom tired and the lighting was inadequate when applying make-up. Dim lights might be romantic but a dressing table with a proper lamp so you can see what you look like is essential! "Deluxe Double Room, 1 King Bed: We stayed two nights, one in a nice room over top of the pool hall in the back, and another over top of the bar/restaurant facing the waterfront. Being off season, both rooms were quiet enough after bedtime, and we slept well. Internet was good. Breakfast was okay, good enough, but not up to the standards of a modern hotel buffet. Parking was easy, and everything in the town was only a very short walk away."

"Our stay was very good every item you wound need was there for cooking Tv all towels and cleaned every day, if there was one downside it didn’t have a lift as we were on the second floor and being in our seventies couldn’t carry our cases up fortunately we contacted the reception and they sent a person to help which was great other than that couldn’t fought it,"
