I never checked into this hotel in highland falls New York my son and I where attending the tour for Westpoint army because my son will be attending their next year ,we where staying one night at the Thayer hotel and secured another night at this awful cadet hotel just in case we couldn’t get to our flight on time . As a courtesy on my end , I called 1 hours before check in to let him know I may or may not be checking in upon flight time change, my son and I went back to the Thayer hotel because we had checked out at 0600 to grab the shuttle provided thru Westpoint at the buffalo soldier field to start the candidate and parent tour from 0700-0100 hours . With that being said from 2-6 pm we stayed in the lobby while waiting for our driver to take us to the airport ! When I called back this hotel and even the manager of Thayer hotel to notify the manager of this FairBridge INN maintenance is who was answering the phones from 3:30-5:30 pm Bruce’s the manager had an emergency is what we where told! And I who had reservations the night before as a pre-caution , was tying to notify the hotel that we are not checking. In to cancel our reservations , maintenance is not capable of doing a manager or front staffs job , even the manager of the Thayer hotel called for us .and got no where and because of this booking thru EXPDEDIA I MISSED THE WINDOW OF CANCELLATION DUE TO INCOMPETENT STAFF AT THE FAIR RIDGE INN.. I ADVISE TO NOT EVER BOOK ANY ROOM AT THIS HOTEL.

The room was not cleaned We found some dead bugs and Dirty socks under the bed... They didnt have a stove in the room, but the website said they have... We paid for a premium room but It was poor They said they havent a premium room, so for what i paid...?

Kind manager, room not clean
Very nice manager at the front desk checking in, but the room was not clean. Old food in the microwave and the bathroom was dirty. Please ask the owners to provide more staff for the nice manager. He needs better support to maintain this hotel.

The photo on Expedia is hardly reflective of the entire property. The gentleman at the desk was pleasant, but the property is just old, rundown and tired. Its only redeeming quality is convenience to West Point. Would not stay there again.

Update floors and shower, tubs gone. But, probably should have gone for new mattresses before other renovations. But inexpensive and always available. Enjoy the welcoming staff.

NO ELECTRIC
Was moved from one room to another 3 times, the door wouldnt open in room 1 and was moved to a difference room, after 3 hrs they room didnt cool off and was moved to a 3rd room. 2 hrs later the Hotel power and was without AC the entire night, AC came back on aroun 4am. Temperature was 80 degrees, I hope the hotel credits my card back or gives me a free night.

Nice upgrades are being made. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Staff was friendly and accommodating. I look forward to staying there again when the upgrades are complete.

Very outdated! So much so that it is uncomfortable. Wall paper peeling off the wall, paint flaking and there was carpeting. The picture of the room does not have carpeting. It appears clean but felt unkept.

not worth the price
The photos indicate the hotel is being updated. The room we stayed in was not updated and was much, much worse than we expected and not worth the price we paid. The carpets were VERY stained and smelly, and the room was very smelly. It was late when we arrived, and we discussed leaving and going someplace else, but decided to stay. In the morning, we saw the room with the light and were pretty disgusted that we stayed. The bathroom was clean, the sheets were clean. If the carpet was clean and the smell somewhat addressed, it wouldn't have been so bad.

This property was trash. regardless of the flood damage, the rooms were horrible. The pictures provided by Expedia's website did not properly represent the facilities. It was a complete bait and switch. We ended up not staying in the facility and are fighting expedia for a partial refund. DO NOT STAY IN THIS PLACE!!!

Unfortunately the parking lot was a disaster. This had nothing to do with management, but rather the weather. Sink holes throughout the parking lot. The room needed a thorough cleaning. Further the room had an odor.
