"We had stayed at this hotel about 5 years ago and it was incredibly worn and the service was poor at best-and I swore I would never go back. I learned they had updated the hotel -so I figured I would give it another chance- as there are so few options in Evanston during parents weekend etc. Unfortunately, it was just like putting lipstick on a pig- maybe they painted and got new bedding but it is still old and dilapidated - the bathrooms are yucky. "We love this hotel and visit it as much as we can. When we go during the week we find it very quiet which is one the reasons we go. The room is always perfect and comfortable. The housekeepers will always accommodate you if you need something extra. We love the staff and since we go there so often they have become “friends”.
