"Overall, my stay at Hometown Suites was excellent. The staff was friendly, the room was clean, and everything was going great until about 12:30 a.m., when I woke up feeling like I was in a rainforest. The air conditioner had malfunctioned, leaving a film of water throughout the room. The floor, my suitcase, clothing, personal belongings, and even I were damp from the excessive moisture.
Once I notified the staff, they responded quickly and moved me to another room immediately, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, by the time I got settled into the new room, it was around 1:45 a.m., and I had to be up at 3:30 a.m. to catch an early flight. I tried to relax and fall back asleep by turning on the television, but it was not set up and prompted me to sign in with my personal Google account, which I was not comfortable doing.
After lying awake for about 15 minutes, I decided to get up and head to the airport early. While I understand that equipment failures can happen, the malfunction affected my sleep, disrupted my travel plans, and left my belongings damp. Given the inconvenience, I believe a complimentary night's stay or similar accommodation would have been appropriate.
That said, the staff handled the situation professionally, and I would stay here again. Hopefully, my next visit will be free of any unexpected air-conditioning adventures."
