"Very clean, older hotel. Great location near some nice parks, all things in Hilo. Only thing missing (and most places provide) was a hair dryer. I just didn’t notice it wasn’t listed on amenities, so my bad. All else was good and we would def stay again…."
"The staff were so nice, with so much aloha! We have never met nicer staff. But the property is definitely older, and apparently scheduled to be torn down, something to do with the land lease not being renewed & plans for a marina in this location. Our room on 1st floor was spotlessly clean, with many nice little touches by caring staff, pretty folded towels, and our room included a small fridge with a freezer. The room is older — painted cement blocks — think college dorm room. The sliding glass door on first floor to our lanai did not lock or even latch. And — there was no AC. There was a ceiling fan, & a nice big room fan. But no window except the sliding glass door, which we kept shut all night, & put things in front of, for security, with many homeless in the nearby park. It was hot & humid & miserable all night. I think if we could have had an open window, it might have helped. If you know what you are getting — painted cement block walls like a college dorm room, & no AC, only fans, & no way to leave a window open on first floor, & no elevator & no ramp even to wheel up luggage — but absolutely wonderful staff & spotlessly clean — including a tiny kitchenette — you can make a better decision. Perhaps 2nd floor rooms would be better. It wasn’t for us. But Aloha, to the wonderful staff … "
Hilo Hawaiian Hotel, Trademark Collection by Wyndham
10/10 Excellent
"Wonderful hotel! Welcoming, friendly, clean, good bed, wonderful view! The extra money for the ocean view with the view of Mauna Kea over the harbor is totally worth it. We enjoyed sitting on our lanai & watching the fishermen down below, & the sailboats & canoes, & even the freighters. Enjoy! "
"Don't be deceived by the exterior of the building. Once you enter the front door with the provided code it's very nice and inviting.
Our room was clean and comfortable. Nicely furnished. Compact but all our needs were supplied. Good coffee. Nice thick towels. Good air conditioning and a ceiling fan. Convenient location downtown Hilo. Neighborhood felt a little iffy with a few homeless people outside. Parking lot in the rear was not paved. Should we return to Hilo again we would stay there and recommend it to our friends.

"We were greeted by the owner who toted our luggage in then gave us a brief tour and some helpful touring suggestions. Our room was clean and comfortable with very good beds. The large balcony area adjacent to our room was lovely. Breakfast was prompt and very tasty. Overall a very nice experience. "
