"The staff at this hotel are charmingly Yorkshire and welcoming. A refreshing change from more 'corporate' but less personal treatment of guests. Born in West Yorkshire myself, I loved the chatty friendliness of the staff with their typically Yorkshire sense of humour that made my visit such a pleasure. I'll definitely return. The food was excellent, the rooms modern and immaculate. I would have given 5 stars if it wasn't for the fact that I could hear the people in the next room talking way into...

"Great location, with lovely views over the surrounding moors. Excellent range of food and wines very reasonably priced. Bed room was spacious and spotless clean. Will return in the future for sure."

"Room was clean staff were great easy to park breakfast was ok would of preferred to have the toast with the breakfast I did not agree with the deposit and the emergency lighting in our room 5 lit the room up all night took me a while to get to sleep but when I did slept well"

"The pub and restaurant are closed from Monday to Wednesday, but, the rooms are available, but, the breakfast is available, if you are staying there. The Inn is surrounded by beautiful scenery, and ample parking. The transport links are excellent to Huddersfield and surrounding areas. Julie, the host, is very nice and knowledgable about the area, who also cooks a very good breakfast. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable, very spacious bathroom with a lovely selection of toiletries. ...

"The staff were very friendly and helpful and nothing was too much effort. The food was excellent and the Guiness was outstanding ! Would recommend highly ."

"You guys dropped the ball The place was closed and has been for quite a while. I had to find a different motel after I arrived in Billings"

"Had a great stay at the White Lion - the staff were amazing and looked after us. The hotel is within easy reach of the train station and right in the middle of Hebden Bridge too. Breakfast was delicious too."

"Cracking place. Lovely room. Great welcome. Good food"

"Fantastic place to stay! Lovely room, massive bed & spacious shower room. Looked very new as everything was in spotless condition. Breakfast great too. Would highly recommend!"

"The Governors House is a fabulous small inn hotel. Yes it is rooms over a pub but there is no noise from the pub and the upstairs is very well appointed. The rooms are really nicely laid out, beautifully decorated and very clean. The bed was SO comfortable I slept past 7am for the first time in years! There is a private entrance for hotel guests if they don’t want to go via the bar (it is a nice pub with good food too!) and the rooms have all the usual amenities - tea, coffee, hairdryer etc....

"Decent standard and convenient"

"Perfect in every way."

"Lovely place to stay. Very friendly and helpful staff, food excellent, a good variety of beers on tap with some from a local brewery. I thought the leaflet with suggested walks from the hotel was a good touch. Very convenient to get to a lot of places for walking in the Hope Valley. I would stay again."

"Staff were fantastic and very accommodating. Great food and reasonably priced. Would definitely book again."

"The Old White Inn was in a great area and it was nice to stay in an authentic inn. On the second night of our stay, we were awoken by a person coming up the stairs pounding on all the doors on our floor and trying to gain access in the rooms with a key. The person was also slamming the furniture outside the hallway. This went on a few times and then we saw another person receiving deliveries at 3 in the morning and slamming the front door several times. The next morning this same person was...
