I arrived to Ovolo Southside early hoping to at least store my bags before check-in, but they gave me a free early check-in! The room was full of unexpected surprises such as the free mini-bar and the cool touchpad in the room that controls your status (do not disturb, request room service, etc.). I enjoyed my stay and would happily do so again, but just be aware of the noise, it could get noisy at some parts of the day.

May look cool but lacks practicality
The (boring) area and the room size are within our expectation, but there are no chairs in the room! We aren't influencers who work and eat in bed, so that's a huge drawback for us. There are no proper desk either, only big empty cabinets. One of us had to work during our stay. The toilet are the shower cubicle are in two separate rooms. We don't like that setting at all. The hotel tries too hard to look cool but overlooks practicality.

It’s highly accessible by MTR. Two stops on the South Island Line and you’re in Admiralty. Loved being outside of the concrete jungle at the end of the day but having easy access to see the sights. The service is stellar and the facilities too. I would stay here again.

Good value for money, nice design.
We booked a night as we are moving out from our apartment. The room is clean, staff is very nice. Just the set up of the room is a little weird. We had to order room service since we can’t go anywhere because of the restrictions and the food was delivered like take-away food. Would have appreciated a tray and proper cutlery rather than all plastic and have to put a towel on our bed to protect the bed sheet... Room service set up can be improved. Lastly no blinds in the bathroom so the light goes through the glass door between the bedroom and bathroom. If you need to sleep in the dark then not ideal. I am sure there are better rooms than that one. As per breakfast it was excellent!

Love the Ovolo experience. I always appreciate the free snack bag and minibar.:) However, the doors of the bathroom and the shower of the room we stayed in couldn’t close.

Nice and thoughtful stay

The hotel offers many freebies and has a great vibe and design which are amazing. However, the window blind is totally useless, being waken up by the brightness at 5ish and couldn’t sleep again. Also, my room didn’t include body lotion, called reception to deliver, waited half an hour with no response, followed up and waited another half an hour..... called twice again with no pick up, I decided to give up, overall, service needs improvement!

The Corner room does have a stunning view and we like it a lot! Free mini-bar there is great too :) Yet, I think Ovolo can add a table and a chair. Mattress was nice, but the pillows were too soft. Rooftop bar is cool, but smaller than expected.

A quirky modern designer hotel in a quiet more relaxed part of Hong Kong. The hotel offers excellent facilities and nice touches like goodie bags & free mini bar in each room. The staff are a youthful friendly group and are extremely helpful. Rooms facing the playing fields will be much quieter than the ones facing onto super busy Wang Chuk Hang road.

Too basic.
Hotel still undergoing renovation in certain areas. Staff were friendly and helpful. Very basic amenities in room had to live out of a s suitcase as no chest of drawers ,chair or work top . Comfortable is was not but suited our needs being in the area we had to be in and close to the MTR . Plenty of freebies but would have preferred more comfort in room.

Front desk staff is very kind and helpful. Room is clean and cozy with nice green foot ball field view. Location is convenient like many eatery within a walking distance and 5 mins to MTR station which is very convenient to go for sightseeing anywhere.
