"The Ben Miller Inn is an 1880's woollen mill set in a beautiful wooded area with hiking trails all around. This time of year the maple trees put on a beautiful display of colour.
We stayed 2 nights while attending a family wedding on the property. Check in was friendly and efficient. They give you 3 actual keys to open your building (there are several), your room and the pool area. The locks are old and it takes a bit of patience to get them to work properly but they do the job.
Our room was spacious and well appointed, with a whirlpool bath, king sized bed and a huge window overlooking the river. There was no safe, which would have been nice and the furnishings were a bit worn. New drapes and some new artwork would have spiffed things up at minimal cost.
There's a very large, very clean indoor pool you can probably have to yourself. It was well maintained but the same could not be said of the plant display at the top of the stairs - one large plant was completely dead and another was on its way out. Removing them would be a big improvement.
We ate dinner in the dining room one evening and had a very positive experience. The server was friendly, helpful and experienced. The menu was quite varied with reasonably priced entrees. Food was done perfectly and their wedgie potatoes were the best I've had anywhere. Little candles on the tables provided a little ambiance along with the beamed ceilings and stonework ."
