Beautiful older hotel with a great restaurant and bar with amazing food. Hot tubs are nice and the location is great for exploring the area. Staff are very helpful.

The breakfast spread was incredible and exceeded our expectations with homemade pastries, bread, eggs, bacon, a waffle machine and so much more. This is a beautiful and charming hotel with a water view and quiet corners to sit and read/reflect. The staff were so kind and welcoming and saw to our every need.

Staff was very pleasant and happy to help us. Thermal bass for the perfect temperature. One tub had some damage, but open for use 24 hours a day. I would definitely stay here again. The breakfast buffet was incredible, and coffee/tea available 24 hours a day.

Sehr gutes Essen. Das Nachtessen war das beste Essen auf Island. Das Frühstücksbuffet war gross und ebenfalls sehr fein. Leider hatte es viele Spinnen, welche tot oder lebendig überall verteilt waren. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

The property location is in a remote but beautiful area. There is nothing around less than 20-30 min drive. The property has vintage feel to it but very clean and organized. The main floor is a collection of books, board games, piano and bar with multiple chairs to hang out and enjoy the view. It gives very communal feel. Breakfast was simple but good. Hotel stuff was chill and very friendly. Overall would stay here again!

They are under new management since Feb 2026. They are still trying to get everything right. The staff is friendly and helpful. The food is excellent. It has a wonderful view.

Amazing views of Hvalfjörður from this quirky hotel. Our room had a bed on the mezzanine floor so plenty of space below for luggage. Would have been good to have a second chair in the room but we made do with going to the lounge. Loved the bar & lounge/sitting room area - great for drinks or (free) cups of tea/coffee. Also great view from spa pools. Breakfast included cereal, skyr, fruit, pastries & eggs/bacon. No flat whites but tea & coffee. Easy parking. No lift but staff offered to help with luggage - we were ok just one floor up.

Beautiful view from the rooms on the hvalfjörður side, the dinning room and lounge area were outstanding. The staff were very helpful and attentive, we very much appreciated their attention to us as tired travelers on our first night in Iceland. The hotel manager was extremely approachable, friendly, he answered all of our questions, and gave us great information for the next few days of our adventure. The property is under new ownership as of early 2026 and they are making visible improvements. The dinner was excellent and the breakfast was also very good. We asked for our thermos to be filled with boiling water and we had hot water for tea and coffee all day! The bed was very comfortable although they are upstairs in a loft. The hotel is very quiet and we did not hear noise from other guests. Highly recommended, and we would stay here again, especially as a base hotel to hike to the Glymer waterfall on a future trip.

The staff was very happy and very helpful. Everyone must look at staying here. The views the staff the extra rooms where you can sit and read or play games or just sit and enjoy the view were abundant. The breakfast was the best we had in the 12 days we were here and their suppers were very good from the risotto to the lasagna delicious Thank you for making our 2 nights very enjoyable

Welcoming Staff

The hotel staff were very welcoming! The meals offered and bar had excellent options, even for me when I have to eat gluten free. Hotel is a little dated but comfortable accommodations and nice size rooms and bathroom.

Ánægjuleg dvöl.

Notalegt og fallegt hótel. Fallegt útsýni yfir fjörðinn úr herberginu, rúmið mjög gott. Vinalegt starfsfólk og góður matur. Setustofan virkilega falleg og þægileg. Mér finnst vanta að láta gesti vita af því að herbergið sé á þremur pöllum og mjög hár stigi upp í hlutann sem rúmið er í. Það kom sér aðeins illa í okkar tilfelli. Annars heilt yfir mjög ánægjuleg dvöl í rólegu og notalegu umhverfi.
