"Unexpected late check-in fee with no prior disclosure. We arrived at the hotel a little after 9 PM on Tuesday, August 11. At around 8:20 PM, while we were still on the way, we called the hotel to request an extra blanket. We also told them we were still driving and would arrive in about 40 minutes. The staff simply said “okay” and never mentioned any late check-in fee. When we arrived, the front desk asked us to pay an additional charge. The total was different from our original Expedia...

"The river views are spectacular and it’s worth it booking the river view rooms. The hotel is historic and like stepping back in time to the basics, in the most charming way. FYI - AC in the rooms, third floor was warm during our stay. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly in French and English. The grounds were beautifully maintained with beautiful gardens, and everything inside and out was extremely clean. Loved our stay. Worth the long drive from Ontario."
