"I really enjoyed my stay here at Ryokan Sawaya Honton. For me i wanted an authentic older style accomadation, and this place delivered. They do have washing machines and dryers, so you can do yourself when it suits. Its clean and quiet, and on a relatively quiet street. The best was the public bath at the end of the day it was so lovely to soak in the hot tub. Tattoos ok. I highly recommend this great establishment for long or shorter stays. Thank you Ryokan 🙏😊👌"

"Great location between tourist sites but not in a touristy area. Good choices for neighborhood restaurants. It is ideal location and size for family to four. Six is possible but a little tight. Morning run to imperial palace gravel ground is a big plus. "

"The room was thoughtfully designed and the property is beautiful. If you happen to forget any toiletries, there are plenty provided. The owner was very kind and he provided precise recommendations for transit. He also provided us with a map of Kyoto as well as a general guidebook for tourists.
