"Travelled for work and needed a hotel in this area, but wasn’t doing more than sleeping here. So it was perfect for my needs. I was initially worried about how safe the surrounding area would be, having never been to Brooklyn, but it was perfectly fine. Desk staff were exceptionally helpful."

"This stay at the Lodge Red hook was a bright spot at a very frustrating time in the city. Because of the NBA Finals and the World Cup the city was way overcrowded. "First of all, I had a difficult time getting in touch with customer front desk by phone. My sisters and I called several times and each time no one picked up the phone. The property is a bit rundown. I had to change rooms twice due to broken items. 1st room had a broken shower seat. The 2nd room had a leak from the bathroom ceiling later in the evening and no maintenance tech on-site until the following morning. "The property is old, very smelly, and poorly maintained. The breakfast was beyond disgusting — it would be better not to offer breakfast at all than to serve something of such poor quality.I really do not understand the pricing; it should not cost that much given the condition of the property. The only good things were that the staff were very nice and helpful, and the location is close to transportation. Otherwise, I would not recommend this place, and I would not stay here again."
