"Very warm and welcoming, friendly and helpful hosts. Homely accommodation. (Stairs to rooms) but we managed with luggage. We only stayed 1 night on our journey but found it lovely and relaxing. Tea/coffee/water available along with toiletries if you forgot to pack any. Good location/safe and walkable to sea front. Parking onsite by request. Would recommend. Thanks for having us. "Newly built hotel with modern very clean design. Rooms with sea view have a spectacular view. Great location on bus route around Torbay. Breakfast and dinner of good standard. Staff are very efficient, attentive and pleasant. One thing to note is the £15 per day car parking fee."

"The room was lovely, and the breakfast was great. I especially loved the yogurt muesli—it was fantastic! Raj and Manju were always kind and welcoming. They even drove me to the train station, which I really appreciated. I would definitely stay there again if I travel to Torquay in the future."

Very very hot fan was supplied but did absolutely nothing (it was the hottest few days) Only one window could open and that was a maximum of 3 inches We will book again but study the facilities much closer . Slightly misleading when you read the descriptions where it says "hotel apartments" Staff were very friendly and cheerful"

"Nice clean swimming pool 1.4m deep, heated to 28/29°C. Nicely cooked breakfast with a selection of cereals, fruit and croissants. The hotel is at the top of a hill which is a bit of a pain if on foot with mobility issues but fortunately the number 12 bus stops not too far away at the Central Church allowing a short walk back on more level ground. "Wonderful one night stay. Huge beautiful room, air conditioning was a bonus in this heat. Loved using the spa facilities and outdoor pool. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Excellent breakfast."

"We have stayed at Astor house before so we came back to the same apartment. They had upgraded the sofas to recliners which was a nice surprise. The apartment itself is easy to get to clean and Torquay town centre is a short walk away. It has a great view over the beach side of Torquay and the area is quiet. The place is clean and well maintained and the host kindly provided some biscuits and milk. I would highly recommend this place."

"Outside of property very run down. Paint peeling and weeds all over car park and outside spaces. Outdoor pool doesn’t look like it’s been in use for years, filthy water probably built up rain water and rotten leaves in it. Inside hotel old fashioned but kept clean, large room but sealant around bath taps black in several place's. Staff friendly, didn’t use indoor pool so can’t comment on it. "I really liked this hotel, it was our second visit but, they completely messed up our dinner. We pre ordered the roast pork but, unfortunately they ran out! We ended up with ham, egg and chips which was laughable, the ham looked like thinly sliced spam, the egg was overcooked and we had a few oven chips! It was so bad we got up and walked out, which i have never done before and I’m 67! I have emailed the hotel but, no reply! We won’t be going back!"

"Outdoor pool has been out of action for some time, no mention of this on the web site... The hotel Is listed, as having indoor and out door pools which was one the reasons we pick it. The weather was fabulous and we were disappointed there was no out door pool facility..."
