"The Shiomi Prince was an interesting hotel and the last one I stayed in on my lengthy visit to Japan so I could compare it to two others. For a family going to Disneyland, Shiomi Station is right across the road with trains arriving every few minutes. As I was not going to Disneyland, there really wasn't much in the area in terms of dining options or things to do.
The hotel itself is very well appointed, in a modern way, from the lobby, to the hallways, and the rooms. The breakfast options were outstanding in the morning and the Tide Restaurant provided excellent service and food in the evening.
What I didn't care for was the room setup. I didn't like that you enter the room through the bathroom as it means the most high traffic area is the bathroom floor. Second, I didn't find the cleaning was very detailed as the bathroom counter was not getting wiped down and the floor under the beds probably hadn't been vacuumed in quite some time. Third, there wasn't anywhere to put a suitcase as there were no tables or chairs in the room. You do everything on your bed. Finally, I didn't really care for having to go to the lobby for amenities that were provided in the room in all the other hotels I stayed in.
Finally, this is a great hotel for a family with kids who wants a good breakfast and easy access to Tokyo Disney. I didn't fit that demographic and while it certainly was a nice place, I probably wouldn't stay there again."
