"We stayed for 3 nights from Sunday to Wednesday over the May Bank holiday with our dog. We have stayed here before and we thoroughly enjoyed or stay every time. The hotel, rooms and communal areas are always spotless - the reception staff, bar staff and cleaning staff are very helpful and accommodating. I heard that the hotel was under new management (hence some renovations around the hotel) and was worried that it might lose its ‘old world charm’ and historical reminders around the hotel; I hope this doesn’t happen.
Our only gripe was with breakfast on the first morning (Bank Holiday Monday). We had booked to have breakfast in the lounge where dogs are allowed at 9.15. We came down to find there was no room for us; we were allowed in the Llewelyn Suite where there was a table with a cloth on. The waitress brought us tea and toast - I had to go into the main restaurant to find a tray, milk (no jugs), sugar, butter etc. a waiter did help me and brought them in on a tray - by this time the tea and toast was cold! It was unusually busy and the staff did apologise. The two mornings after that, a table was set up with everything already on the table.
Everything else was perfect!"
