"We had the most incredible stay at the Castle. The history, beauty and charm of the castle is incredible and I highly recommend. Rich and Jess were lovely hosts and could not have made our stay more comfortable. The breakfast and evening cocktail hours were enjoyable as well. We will absolutely return!"

"Ottima la posizione dell’hotel, ma le camere risultano datate, non c’è il frigorifero in camera e il bagno non ha la finestra. Colazione scarsa per la categoria, il personale non ci ha chiesto se volevamo delle bevande calde che non erano disponibili da dispenser. Vista la posizione siamo stati costretti a cenare in hotel per mancanza di alternative vicine, conto alto e porzioni ridotte."

"Another fantastic stay at Aspen lodge where nothing is too much trouble and you are served amazing breakfasts. Stayed for a week and we literally had a different breakfast daily. You can eat indoors or outdoors too here. We came back for the views and location, the food and the peace and most of all the warmth and kindness and local knowledge of our host A big thankyou once again"

"The Pearle Oban is right in the heart of the city...beautiful view overlooking the water. Accessible to all sights by walking and plenty of restaurants in the area. I am not sure why there is no outlet in the bathrooms; it does make it difficult to blow dry your hair...lol The staff was fabulous; held our luggage for a day while we took an overnight trip to Isle of Mull. Great breakfast spread that was included. Loved our stay in Scotland!"

"We recently stayed on the 5th floor, the journey to our room can only be described as likened to “walking the plank”. From the corridor to get to the room onwards, the floor starts to feel what I can only describe as “spongy”. If I had my eyes closed I would have sworn I was on a boat. After finding more than a few stray curlies in the bath, a mouldy bath mat, paper peeling off the walls, mouldy looking bits behind it and a suspicious burn mark on the ceiling, accompanied in general with a...

"Was ok. Peaceful location but huge gravel car park directly in front of ground floor rooms was noisy in morning and evening. Stale smell inside the hotel in general. Staff were overly “formal / professional” - felt almost awkward at times and didnt feel friendly. Hot breakfast for £25 not good value, continental breakfast at £17 also not good value (yoghurt, granola, canned fruit and watermelon). Good bedding, comfortable beds, but at this price I would not return."

"There is so much potential in this place! A beautiful old grand hotel that looks worn, but with some time and vision it could become a gem. Staff was excellent (especially Brid), breakfast was lovely each day, location and views across Oban Bay were spectacular. We would certainly stay here again and wish the ownership the very best as they seek to revive this lovely old property."
