There is good and bad with this hotel, room was at an actual 5% slant , check in was great and staff in bar / restaurant where superb. But out of 3 days I also had 3 fire alarms going off. And squeaky floor boards on both mine which must have annoyed them below as the noise from floor boards above me caused me.

The hotel is very well situated in heart of town. We booked a superior double room, which advertises as one double bed in a room, we were given, what I think was a family room with a double bed and a single bed. The hotel room was clean and beds comfortable albeit very dated. The hotel, is in need of an overhaul - dated, painting and carpets replaced. The landing at our room had two mop buckets collecting water from a leaking roof! I would like to add that the staff are very nice and friendly

The Royal Hotel is located right in the heart of Oban, which makes for easy traveling around the town from the hotel. Parking is challenging, though, so be prepared to walk a block or two the the hotel. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the breakfasts were delicious.

I couldnt stay until the Monday as the bathroom was tiny with walk-in shower, tiles broken on floor and so cold - it was like an ice box, i came home on Sunday instead of the Monday. Very clean and comfortable room. Spacious corner room with sea views from both windows as we were on the 3rd floor . Great choice for breakfast Bar prices very reasonable Car park chaotic. Some parts of the bathroom needed updated
