Jireh House

"Perfect location near the marina & ferry and close to the shops, bars and restaurants in town. The host was welcoming and friendly, and very kindly made alterations to accomodate last minute changes to our stay. We only stopped one night during a yacht regatta and didn't get the opportunity to eat at Jireh House due to our race timings but the food being served in the restaurant looked excellent - we will be back! The rooms were peaceful, clean and had very comfortable beds. Space was restricted in the en-suite (shower, washbasin and toilet) in one of our rooms but this is clearly because this is a beautiful historic building so it cannot be extended to hold a larger facility. This is not a criticism and it did not detract from my visit at all; I mention it only for the benefit of those with resticted mobility who may wish to mention it in their preferences when booking."

"Disappointed with to find a whole large bowl of yogurts out of date ( not just one but all were out of date) The lady at dinner greeting us had a bit of an attitude problem and was not friendly Receptionist blamed the staff which was very unprofessional for a hotel of this calibre, they could do an awful lot better We were not the only ones to complain, receptionist indicated that their student staff had gone back to college The clearly is a middle or even a senior management and business model issue that needs addressing"
Whitecliff Bay Holiday Park

"Excellent base for iow car trip. Caravan comfortable for 6 people, although compact so it helps if you all like each other! our van was clean and freshly furnished with everything you need. Bring towels however. great park amenities and access to beach whether in main or satellite park across road."
The Q Hotel

"The hotel is well maintain and the public areas are a pleasant place to spend time. Decor/furnishing is fun and good quality. The rooms are a good size and the bed was very comfortable. The pool area is not huge, but is a pleasant place to spend some time. Parking is limited. Sadly, I had an issue with dinner and breakfast. The website had stated that their was food available in the evening during peak season, but that was not the case. The website seems to have been updated to reflect this. Breakfast is served from 8am to 10am, which I found a little limited as I was travelling for work. Sadly, the doors to the restaurant were still closed at 8.05am, so I was forced to make alternative arrangements. Small things to fix, but overall good."

"The Prince of Wales has bus-stops immediately outside the building and it is located opposite the entrance to Osborne House. Our breakfasts were generous in terms of portions and any extra requirements arrived swiftly. Our room was very good value and it was very quiet. Two minor issues with fixtures were resolved quickly and cheerfully. We did not have a car during this visit, but the bus journey from the East Cowes dock took only a few minutes on the local bus service. Great value , great location, and helpful staff."

"the hotel is nicely placed near to Sandown Town centre and the beach. The hotel is large and is set in lovely grounds. Things that could be improved: - there was woodlice in our room, would be nice if these were eradicated - there is no footpath from the front of the hotel to the pavement outside the hotel. It means you have to walk along the access road to the hotel. Not nice with kids. - the breakfast is until 9am but by 845am was looking very tired. Would be good to have it properly refilled until 9am. - apart from the pool table there is nothing for children to do, this hotel is very much aimed at the retired short-break community. Overall the hotel was ok and served its purpose plus has red squirrels outside!"

"Staff so helpful and pleasant, room well thought out with great touches such as phone chargers. Gym excellent- £10 a day to use. Breakfast not included - lovely but perhaps give the option when booking?"
