Top Izu Islands Hotel Reviews

Hotel Himalaya Sea

10/10 Excellent

"This place is great for a little escape away from the crazy cities of Japan. After visiting Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto, the crazy crowds, crowded trains we stopped off here for a couple days before our trip back to Narita Airport. Its a quick train from Atami to Usami. Its a small, quiet town on a beautiful beach. The hotel itself is dated but immaculate, polished tile floors, the public and private baths on the property are amazing. Its a short 5 minute walk to the beach. I would recommend a taxi from the train station to the hotel the first time as the path up can be tricky to find and google maps takes you on a wild goose chase. The people running this place go above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable. It is rather rural so you get 1 Lawsons and a couple local restaurants within walking distance. It really was a great way to just relax and unwind before we headed back to tokyo for our flight home."

Hotel Izukyu

10/10 Excellent

"The staff was very helpful. It was a stormy afternoon when we arrived. The hotel is right by the Shirahama beach( 2 minutes’ walk). Our room was on the top floor with ocean view, and we could see the sunrise and watch the surfers catching the waves. There is a 7-Eleven and Family Mart nearby. The room was very spacious. If you booked a Japanese-style room, you have to make your futon bed yourself. The futon was very comfortable !!! I didn’t get a chance to use the onsen as I have a tattoo, but it looks busy, very busy, especially at night. Overall, we had a great time staying at Hotel Izukyu. It was spacious, and the views from our room were amazing! I will definitely stay here again."

Shimoda Prince Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"This was a beautiful quiet hotel. While it is obvious thta it already has its years, it is very well maintained and has a beautiful onsen looking out to the sea. The restaurant offers a good varieties of food, and the staff was helpful and nice. The beach is great and the whole pool area is where you can spend most hours! Great hotel in Shimoda"
