At checkout, my father was unexpectedly told that there was a significant outstanding balance on his account, despite everything having already been paid. He spent approximately 40 minutes at the front desk trying to understand the charges while being spoken to in an unprofessional and disrespectful manner in front of other guests. Staff is very friendly and accommodating, rooms are well appointed and clean, it feels warm and welcoming. "The Civilian is an amazing place to stay. It’s situated right in the heart of the city, I attended a Broadway show and it was a 2 minute walk to the theater. The staff was amazing. The room and hotel was spotless. Housekeeping came at 4:30PM, one day. I’d prefer to have them come earlier. Also, the breakfast bar was pretty limited. Other than that, everything else was EXCELLENT! If definitely stay again and recommend it to others."

"My wife and 2 kids (13 & 11) had a great trip. It was a heat wave in New York while we were there. The air conditioning was on and there was a lovely scent when welcoming you back to a very clean and beautiful hotel. Location was 1/2 a block from Time Square which made everything very convenient. I would recommend for any family."

"Doesn’t have Internet in the room. This 21st-century is midtown New York . They claimed to him none of the networks they suggested worked, nobody is able to fix this within a week. While the location is great stuff is friendly, I haven’t seen any other guests… it was a surrealistic experience."
