Excellent location right in centre of cultural town. Couple owns the property- lady Mia speaks English. Very clean place- good and fun experience sleeping on the futon. Futon was thick so for me no problem sleeping! Room was big enough for 3 of us, but to you will need to keep your luggage and stuff tidy. Breakfast is toast and carefully cut fruits. On the last day we didn’t realise check out was 10, and came back at 11. Mia was very accommodating. She also called us a taxi to send us to the station. The gentleman even gave us a snack pack to go on the train! Highly recommended.
Tough to rate this stay as I had 2 completely opposite experiences during this stay. I had been having trouble contacting a few of the other local Hanok stayd so was pleased to see that there was a reception available at Sungsim with decent hours. I arrived around 1900hrs in the evening and was greeted only to be informed that my booking had been overlooked and that there wasn't a room available for me. I was very upset but the owners did try to find me another room and were eventually successful. Sort of. The room they did find was in another Hanok owned by a friend of theirs. It wasn't something that I would have chosen for myself as it was quite run down (unfinished bathroom, rotten/missing wood from door frame, door locked with a spoon). But it was a room for the night so I guess they filled their obligations according to Hotels.com. I wasn't pleased with the fact that I was told I would be refunded for my first night's stay but wasn't. They told me this was the first time something like this has ever happened at their property. I did feel I was a bit scammed. They did have a room available for my second night in Jeonju and they told me it was an "upgrade". It was the hanok style room that I had requested on hotels.com. The room was very clean and tidy and the bathroom was spotless. It had a traditional Japanese futon and heated floors. If you do get a room here it will be clean, comfortable and safe. The owners were friendly and speak English.
We arrived pretty early and the kind owners allowed us to check in. The room was clean and right next to the shopping street. Although there were many people outside the hanok, we could hardly hear any noise once we were in our room. The room was also clean. Take note that the roads in the village are closed on Weekends. we had to walk in and find our way to the hanok. Didn’t have trouble finding the place because it is right beside a street and not deep in. When we left, the taxi picked us up right outside the hanok. The owners even gave us a breakfast pack on the last day. Such a nice and enjoyable stay! They provided rice cake, tea, and fruits for breakfast too. Thanks! Highly recommended!
The room is clean but basic. The bathroom has a toilet and have a shower head attached to the sink. I was afraid the water would splatter all over the toilet but surprisingly it didn't reach that far. It is close to lots of restaurants and shops. Jeonju hanok village provides a traditional Korean experience without a massive amount people like Seoul. The village gets busy on the weekend but still have enough space to enjoy. I am coming back with my kids for them to experience the good food, the culture and traditional hanok stay in few days.
cleaning was good. but the second floor has a worm and spider web. may be someone who did rent this room didn't use second floor. but except this, everything was excellent. 1st floor and bathroom were clean and service was impressive.
