Practical but not homely.
The hotel was functional but not not at all welcoming or appealing. Finishes were all cheap and poor such as plaster patches in the room unpainted, plasterboard above window unpainted and unfinished. Suite was large but not at all homely. Toilet seat was dirty and finishes in the bathroom were untidy ...
