Don't believe the photos or hype. Avoid! The Silva Villa, not far from it, is an absolute delight!

The place is really very nice. Super clean, and staff are amazing. Only thing was the highway noise but I can’t blame the hotel for that. All was excellent

The Nicol is close to my offices in SA, so location was key. I was pleasantly surprised by how nice the apartment-style rooms are. Much better than staying in a typical hotel room. But the best part of The Nicol is the staff! Super friendly, super professional. This is the main reason I will be back.

We booked and paid for four nights (non-refundable). Stayed one. We had booked a King non-smoking room but were given a smoky, stinky double room, where my feet were off the edge of the bed. A truly uncomfortable night. Check-in claimed that I had callled earlier to request an upgrade to a suite, which I clearly had not and hence did not have my King room available and that we needed to pay for the upgrade. Long story short, we fled first thing and paid again for another hotel. BEWARE!!

Great staff and in a great location. We stayed for 7 nights and wish we’d had an apartment rather than a room. The room was dark but spacious.

The rooms were very well presented and clean. The decorations and designs were beautifully arranged. The balcony has a panoramic view of Johannesburg. Its very beautiful and relaxing. The free breakfast and the agents were very helpful and friendly. I will definitely come back here snd recommend to friends and family.

This property is beautiful, clean and the entire staff from the maids to the front desk and restaurant are all 4 stars! So professional. Staff is always cleaning and beautifying the property. So polite and I did not witness any attitudes. This is my new go to when staying in Johannesburg. Management is down to earth and eager to please. This is what I am used to in the states. They are tops!

Stay away.

This is possibly the worst experience I've had at a hotel. I had to move rooms 3 times. The first room had a massive leak from the ceiling then the second did not have properly working lights. By the 3rd attempt i was so tired i simply accepted my fate.

nice apartment hotel but inconsistent with heating, asking for help and queries. the heating is a bit weird, and there aren't always kitchen items like pots/pans, depending on the apartment. same goes for washing/drying machines depending on the apartment. very nice, modern apartment though with parking and close to a lot of restaurants.

Great hotel in Befordview!

The hotel was comfortable and the staff were very friendly. However, the heating system didn't seem to be working very well. The hotel is closeby lots of restaurants and shops, which makes the location very convenient. Unfortunately, guests have to pay extra for in-room wifi.

Everything you need is close by, the gym is great, the restaurant serves great food reasonably priced. There are also plenty of nice restaurant within walkin distance. The staff are great and very helpful.

Great place to stay

The Nicol is a great place to stay. Very good gym, good breakfast, helpful staff. Get an apartment as it's worth the extra expense.
