"many things to like about this resort but also few criticisms too.
A big highlight that was beneficial to our stay was the complimentary refillable water bottles. There are many refillable water stations throughout the resort and we took them out everyday around the island. Another amenity is the free shuttle rides throughout the Mauna Lea district for food options or entertainment. I did like the proximity to a private beach for snorkeling and/or swimming. I can't forget about the complimentary coffee at 5-6am.
For the critiques, I'd wish they had a bigger pool. It does get crowded and ppl are scrounging for lounge chairs. Other resorts have bigger pools with splash pads to give some fun for the kiddos. Also for the room, we found it difficult to live out of our suitcases since there isn't any drawer space. They have a lot of hanger space tho.
It is a very beautiful resort with many amenities to keep you busy. If I'm ever lucky to return to the big island, I wouldn't oppose a return"
"Very lovely location and very remote and safe compared to the rest of the town. The waterfall house is a full house with all amenities and is an absolutely fabulous place to stay.
The cabins are cute and we had the place to ourselves but if we visit the big island again we will be sure to reserve the waterfall house for the full stay because it’s just so wonderful!
Staff was very helpful, peaceful, clean and quiet."
"This was amazing! Great staff, great location AND there's even a swimming hole (5 min walk, if that) with a waterfall! I've never stayed in a shared house before, but this one has spoiled me! It's close enough to be able to drive to all the good tourist spots. Oh, and hopefully you're there for the "big" farmers market on Saturdays. If I get back to the Big Island I'll be coming back here! Thank you for the great time!"
